The Crave is the second studio album by Stephen Dale Petit released on the 26th July 2010. It features guest appearances from former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, former Rolling Stones guitarist and bassist Dick Taylor and keyboardist Max Middleton. The album contains a mixture of covers and originals. These covers include a version of 2Pac's California Love, Need Your Love So Bad (Originally covered by Fleetwood Mac) and the blues classic Cross Road Blues by Robert Johnson (Musician). In keeping with the music, the striking cover and album artwork is most notable for its modern design and style.

Album Design
The album itself comes in a modern Digipak format. The artwork and graphic design are vibrant and modern with contemporary presentation and packaging which is distinctly different from most modern blues records. This is entirely in keeping with SDP's declared desire to break boundaries as he told Mojo (Magazine): "I wanted to make an album that was at its core blues, but I wanted to mix in things that spoke to the fact that we're in 2010. I wanted to push boundaries and get up purist's noses because if purists have it their way, the music goes nowhere. It just dies." This is also depicted within the 16 page booklet found inside the album.
