Matt Pence is a Denton, Texas-based recording engineer, producer, drummer and studio owner (The Echo Lab). Pence played drums in alt. country band Centro-matic from 1997 until their dissolution in 2014. He has also played drums with Sarah Jaffe, Justin Townes Earle, Jason Isbell, Jay Farrar, Jonathan Tyler, Nikki Lane, Paul Cauthen, Camerado and the Green Hour Residency, among others.

His production credits include Jason Isbell, John Grant, Midlake, Lift To Experience, Yuck and The Breeders, among many others.
