Kaphan played a variety of instruments on Eitzel's 1996 post-AMC solo album, ''[[60 Watt Silver Lining]]''. In 1997 Kaphan played pedal steel guitar on [[Cool For August]]'s cover of [[American Music Club]]'s "[[Big Night]]" from their ''[[Grand World]]'' album, which Eitzel sang on. Kaphan and Eitzel arranged the strings on "[[If You Have To Ask]]" from Eitzel's 1997 album ''[[West]]''. In 1999 Kaphan and Eitzel reworked [[The Paradise Motel]]'s "[[Cities]]" for their ''[[Reworkings]]'' album. Kaphan has also occasionally played shows with Eitzel. | |||
