Pearson told Sean Body, "Vudi just came down one day and he said, 'We're going to be a great band. I was playing guitar at the time and Vudi told me that in this new band I would play bass, Matt would play drums and Vudi would play guitar...I said okay. The Ironics were pretty dead in the water anyway."<ref>{{cite book|last=Body |first=Sean |title=Wish The World Away |location=London |publisher=SAF Publishing |year=1999 |isbn=0-946719-20-9}}</ref> Pearson initially left during the band's European tour for ''[[The Restless Stranger]]''.
