This page lists every known song recorded by American Music Club and Mark Eitzel, including Eitzel's guest appearances and side projects. The songs not written & recorded by AMC or Eitzel will be annotated after their title.

A

  • Air Guitar - Written in early 1999 and performed live with a band during that summer in San Francisco.
  • Angels - Recorded by the second incarnation of AMC at Tom Mallon's studio in April 1983.
  • Anvers Garden - One of Vudi's Clovis De Floret demos from 1995 that featured Mark on vocals.
  • Any Love, Anywhere - Written in 1984 this was recorded during the Restless Stranger sessions. Never performed live.

  • Charity - Vudi, Eitzel, Danny, Norelli - Written in early 80's and credited to Mark,Vudi,Danny & Matt Norelli. A studio version was recorded during the Engine sessions.and was played live around that time. It has been commonly known as 'Nothing' on various bootlegs including the 1988 California Rehearsals.
  • Citizens Of The True World - Written in 1988 and performed live with AMC during the autumn of that year and throughout 1989.There is a
 solo demo version on the "Mark Eitzel 4 Track of Shame" demos recorded in April 1989.
  • Close Your Mind - Written in early 1999 and performed live with a band throughout the first of that year.
  • Compassion - Performed in 1986,this is a very early sketch for Blue and Grey Shirt though bears very little resemblance to it musically or lyrically apart from a few lines. It also includes a few lines from the then unwritten Nighwatchman.

  • Emperor's New Clothes - Written in August 1998 and performed solo and with a band throughout that year.
  • Another Morning - First performed as Freedom in early 2002, this song was re-written and renamed several times before going under the title Another Morning on "Love Songs For Patriots."
  • Every Deck - Written in the early eighties and recorded during the Restless Stranger sessions.
  • Eye Fly - One of Mark's electronic instrumental pieces written in 2002/03.
  • Eye For An Eye - Written sometime in 1996 and played live several times in the autumn of that year. A full band version was recorded for Caught In A Trap but was not included on the final album.

  • Fly Away With The Moon - Recorded with Bruce & Danny in July 1995 as part of the "60 Watt Silver Lining" Sessions.
  • Another Morning - First performed as Freedom in early 2002, this song was re-written and renamed several times before going under the title Another Morning on "Love Songs For Patriots."
  • Frivolous Children - Written in 1988 though seemingly never performed live.There is solo version on the "4-Track of Shame demos."
  • Funk Song (Keep The Music Sweet) - Recorded by the second incarnation of AMC in April 1983.

  • A Girl Named Hope - Recorded with Bruce Kaphan in 1997 along with most of the Lovers Leap material.
  • Glen Campbell - Written in 2006/07 and demoed for possible inclusion on next AMC album.
  • Good For You - Written in 2003 and recorded by the band for the upcoming AMC album but didn't make the final album.It was performed by AMC several times during the second half of 2003.
  • The Grand Tour - Written by George Jones.This is an outtake from the first Courage & Confidence sessions recorded in NYC with Beck's band in late 1998.
  • Greeting Cards - Eitzel

H

  • Here Goes Nothing - Kacy Crowley, Eitzel, Paul Jefferson ( Written in late 1990's. No more info known.)
  • Hidden Camera - Written in early late 1988.A solo demo version appears on a version of the "4-Track of Shame" demos.
  • Highway To Hell - This cover of the AC/DC song was recorded at the Abbey Road studios with the band in November 1994.The band performed the song live a number of times in 1993 & 1994.It's unclear whether this studio version was for a radio session or a possible future release.
  • Hold On - Written and performed solo in late 1999.

  • I Never See A Thing - Written in early 1990's. No more info known.
  • If They Won't Let Me In - Written in early 1989 and performed live with AMC throughout 1989.There is a solo demo version on the "Mark Eitzel's 4-track of Shame" demos recorded in April 1989.
  • I'm A Beggar In Your World
  • I'm Just Another Bum Watching You Put Your Makeup On - Written and performed live with AMC in 1988.There is a studio version of it on the "California" demos.
  • In A Crowd - Written & recorded in July 2003 and was the first song to be recorded for the "Love Songs For Patriots" sessions though it didn't make the album.
  • In God We Trust - Written in 1998 and performed solo and with a band in late 1999 and throughout 2000.A demo version was recorded with Bruce Kaphan in the summer of 1998.
  • Interstellar Travels - Written for 60 Watt Lining and supposed to be one of the b-sides on the aborted "Southend On Sea" single.
  • It's Too Late - Jane Wiedlin, Josh Leo, Eitzel - Written in late 90's.No more info known.

L

  • Last Five Years - Written sometime in 1989 and along with an initial solo demo given to the band,a full band studio version was recorded during the December 1989 aborted Everclear sessions. Mark mentions in an interview that this was also
 called "I Spent The Last Five Years Trying To Waste Half An Hour."
 January 2003.
  • Losing Yourself - Written sometime in 1999/2000. A studio version is available on the "Invisible Man" demos.
  • The Lucky Gigolo - One of Vudi's Clovis De Floret demos from 1996 that featured Mark on vocals.

  • Make Out Room - Written in 1998 and performed solo and with a band in late 1998 and the first half of 1999.
  • Man & His TV - Written in 1986/87 and recorded during the Engine sessions.
  • Maybe I'll Tell You Everything - Written and performed around early 1984
  • Meteor - Eitzel & Kaphan
  • Mistaken - Written and recorded in November 1995 in the studion along with early versions of songs that would appear on Lovers Leap and Caught In A Trap.
  • Models - Written in early 2001 and performed with a band during the US leg of the "Invisible Man" tour. Kristin Sobditch
 actually sings on the track and not sure if she or Mark actually wrote the song.
  • Mother I Knew - Written in 2007
  • Mrs. Twine - Written in 2007
  • Mrs. Wright - Written and recorded solo in the Spring of 1989.There is a solo demo version on "Mark Eitzel's 4-Track of
 Shame" recorded in April 1989.
  • My Weak Heart - Written in 1986/87 and recorded during the Engine sessions.

  • Nadine - Another outtake from the Toiling Midgets "Son" album recorded in 1990.
  • Nicole - One of Mark's electronic instrumental pieces written in 2002/03
  • No Hope - Written and recorded in November 1995 in the studio along with early versions of songs that would later appear on Lovers Leap and Caught in a Trap.
  • Nothing
  • Nothing Is Going To Touch Me - Eitzel & Kaphan

O

  • One More Summer In Brighton - Written in the Autumn of 2006 and possibly to be be used for the forthcoming "Marine Parade" musical that is currently in the works. It was performed live once in Brighton in December 2006.

  • Parasite - Nick Drake cover, AMC mid-80s
  • Park St. - One of Mark's electronic instrumental pieces written in 2002/03.
  • Party Dress - early alternate version of "Broken Glass" was recorded by the first version of AMC in late 1982/early 83.
  • Picture Of Flowers - Written in 1986/87, it was recorded by the band during the Engine sessions.
  • Protest Song - Written specifically for the "Take Back San Francisco" rally in November 2000 and performed live just the once.

  • Refuge In The Truth - Eitzel & Kaphan
  • Rod McKeun - Recorded with Bruce Kaphan in 1997 along with most of the Lovers Leap material.
  • Roll Away Your Own Stone - Written in August 2004 and first live played, though aborted, at Bush Hall in London that month. It was first performed in it's entirety at a Tsunami Benefit at 12 Galaxies in January 2005.

  • Sharks In The Water - Written in late October 2002 and performed live a couple of times in New York & Miami that month.
  • She Only Wears St. Johns - One of Marks electronic instrumental pieces recorded in 2002/2003.
  • She Painted Peace - Written and performed solo in the autumn of 1996.
  • She's So Heavy - This Beatles cover was recorded by Mark & Toiling Midgets during the sessions for "Son".
  • Slowburn - Written in early 1996 and performed live with a band during the "60 Watt Silver Lining"tour. A studio version
  was recorded for the aborted "Southend- On -Sea" single but has never been released.
  • Soap Opera Star - Written in the autumn of 2000 and performed solo and with a band in late 2000 and the first half of 2001.
  • Something Else - Written for 60 Watt Silver Lining and was supposed to have been one of the b-sides for the scrapped "Southend On Sea" single.
  • Son Of Fran(en) Sinatra - Written in 1986/87 and also known as "Helplessly Wrong", a full band version was recorded during the Engine sessions.
  • Song For Keith Fletcher - Written in the summer of 2008.
  • Stars - Written in 1982 it was recorded both in April 1983 and again during the Restless Stranger sessions in early 1985.
  • A Summer Place - Performed live a couple of times in San Francisco in the spring of 1990.
  • Sweet Sixteen - This cover of the Iggy Pop song was recorded at Abbey Road studios with the band in November 1994 along with other tracks.It's unclear whether this was for a radio session or a release of some kind. More info soon hopefully.

  • Take Me Home - Written in early 2005 for the soundtrack to "Street Angel" which was performed at the Palace Of Fine Arts in San Francisco in April of that year.
  • Team USA - Written in early 2003 and two different band versions were recorded for the upcoming AMC album but it was not included on the final album.It was performed live several times with the band in the autumn of 2003.
  • That They Care - Written in 1988 and played live through late 1988 & early 1989. No studio version was ever recorded though a demo version exists on Marks 4-Track Of Shame demos recorded in April 1989
  • Things You Already Know - Eitzel & Kaphan
  • Third Man - Written in 1986/87 a band version was recorded during the Engine sessions.
  • To Die - This fantastic song was recorded by Mark & Toiling Midgets during the sessions for "Son".
  • The Torture Of St. Cruelty - Written sometime in the spring of 1992, as mentioned in an interview with Musician magazine. It is unclear whether this turned into a subsequently released song or is a completely unreleased song.
  • Travelling Lighthouses - Manolis Famellos, Eitzel
  • Tumor In Her Nose - One of Mark's electronic instrumental pieces written in 2002/03.
  • Two Worlds - Written in 1983 an early version was recorded by the second incarnation of AMC in April 1983 before being re- recorded during the Engine sessions

  • Way To Be New - Written & performed in January 2003 as part of Mark's competition to write a specific song about a person.
  • Welcome To Whitehall - Written in late 1998 and performed live once with a laptop at the Great American Music Hall in November of that year.There is a studio version of the song on the "Invisible Man" demos.
  • Western Song - Recorded by the first incarnation of AMC in late 1982/early 1983.
  • What The Girl Didn't Say - Marc Capelle & Eitzel
  • What Sets You Free - Written sometime in 1999/2000.A studio version is available on the "Invisible Man" demos.
  • When I Sing You Can Hear The Cash Registers Ring - Written and recorded in November 1995 in the studio along with early versions of songs that would later appear on Lovers Leap and Caught in a Trap.
  • The World Is A Very Dangerous Place - Written and recorded in November 1995 in the studio along with early versions of songs that would later appear on Lovers Leap and Caught in a Trap.
