"Good For You" is an unreleased song by American Music Club. It was written in 2003 and recorded by the band for Love Songs For Patriots, but didn't make the final album. It was performed by AMC several times during the second half of 2003. "I Am Fassbinder", from Mark Eitzel's 2005 solo album Candy Ass, borrows part of the vocal melody from "Good For You".

Lyrics

I never know what I'm feeling
There must be a part of me that's missing

But the worst thing is to see you in pain
I wanna be good for you
I wanna be good for you
I wanna be good for you

If I could, if I could, if I could
I would turn your bad luck into good
Instead turning my joy into firewood
I'm a cripple; I can't love you the way I should

But the worst thing is to see you in pain
I wanna be good for you
I wanna be good for you
I wanna be good for you
I'll never be good for you

I don't ever know what I'm feeling
There must be a part of me that I'm killing
